Cancer spread to bone from ?

My aunt was recently diagnosed with bone cancer, and I was wondering if anyone here had experience with it. I'm upset because a little over a year ago, my aunt had a tumor discovered in her , and her husband coaxed her out of having it operated on (at the point where the tumor was discovered, it could have been removed, with the current situation avoided entirely). He recently told her that she shouldn't bother about the bone cancer either because she was "going to die anyway." He's a bonehead who has a habit of doing such remarkably obnoxious things, and I'm making it a point to punch his lights out the next time I see him. Anyway, the cancerous tissue migrated to my aunt's bones (i'm guessing ribs, but I don't know too many details because my parents are withholding information, as usual), and now she's quite ill. Elizabeth Edwards was in the same spot a while back, and I know she's not doing too well either, since bone cancer is incurable from what I've read.
