If she filed a claim and has already received benefits, it's not the company but the insurance provider they paid that should be settling the claim. This is on the insurance company and she should pursue this especially if the case has not been closed. A workers' compensation attorney doesn't normally charge the client. They will provide services at no charge to the client and get paid by the courts when the case is settled. At least that's how it works in California.
