Umbilical cord???

My son's umbillical cord fell off about a week ago and today I noticed something green oozing from his belly on. Not being gross but the only way I can descibe it is a booger. Ive wiped it clean with an alcohol swab and it seems to be ok now. Is this something I need to notify my peditrician about?
